H.O.P.E. (Hispanic Ministry) MEETING

The Hispanic ministry annual meeting is March 13th at Christ’s Church in Monticello. We’ll be discussing including the beginning of a Hispanic Bible Institute, the ministry successes and financial status, and the need for two new board members to help Rafael continue his good work here.
The meeting will be held at Christ’s Church at Monticello (1500 N. Main, Monticello, IN).
It’s a carry-in.

Meeting at 11, meal at noon.

GAME NIGHT—March 13th at 6-8 pm

We had so much fun last year when we got everyone together to play board games together. Bring a 2-liter soda and a snack to share. Games will be provided, but you can bring your own favorite to share with others. From 6 til 8 pm.

SIGNUP FOR Upward FOOTBALL & CHEERLEADING

We have 3 new football fields, a new concession stand and we’ve added cheerleading to the activities we’re offering. Games will be played Sunday afternoons and we could always use more volunteers to make this an exciting and fun time for the kids.

Sign up is going on now through April 2nd.

If you have any questions contact Trampas Young—732-4476

STAN GOOD TO GO TO HAITAI

Stan has worked very hard to get the support he needs to go on a mission’s trip to Haiti (he’ll be gone over Spring Break) and he’s going with the intention of trying to share his knowledge about education—he’s an excellent school Principal in Winamac.
If you’d like to donate money towards his venture, get in touch with him or his wife Diane, or call the church office.

February Sermons

Whom Do You Love?

7— Your God?
14— Your Sweetie?
21— Your Enemy?
28— Your Neighbor?

Super Colts Vs Saints Party

The Colts are facing off against the Saints (as Christians, are we allowed to root for someone trying to beat a saint?) and we’re having a party to watch the game on our BIG screen. It's cheaper than being there. I read recently that  UPPER LEVEL level tickets (the cheap seats) range from $3500 to $5200. By contrast, our seats are free.

Bring finger foods and be prepared to enjoy the football, food and fellowship. Sunday, February 7th at 6:00 pm.

Friends and Family Day

February 28th, we’re scheduling a “Friend Day” to invite our friends and family to worship with us.

There will be only ONE SERVICE that Sunday, followed by one of our famous carry in meals (there’s not a restaurant in town that can rival it). Invitation Cards and Sign up sheets will be available in the back.

Remember we need YOU for our Pictorial Directory! Just for posing, you’ll receive a complimentary 8X10 portrait and a Church Directory

SIGN UP FOR OUR PICTORIAL DIRECTORY

We’ve been doing our own “pictorial directory” for a few years now, but Olan Mills has given us a deal we can hardly pass up. The new directory will help connect names with faces, serve as an outreach tool, and capture a time in the history of our church congregation. Plus, it’s updatable. Please participate by coming to the church to have your picture taken by the Olan Mills photographer.

In the next several weeks we will be setting appointments before and after services at the church. Sign up as soon as possible to get the best appointment to fit your schedule. Every participating family/household that selects a pose for the directory will receive a complimentary directory and 8X10 Custom Natural Portrait. You will come to the church only once for less than an hour for photography and portrait viewing.

You will have the opportunity to order additional portraits during your scheduled appointment time. Purchases are unconditionally guaranteed.

The scheduled dates for photography are:
Friday February 5 3:00 pm to 9:30 pm
Saturday February 6 10:00 am to 5:00 pm

Remember, everyone’s participation is important to make the new directory an important and useful tool for newer and long-time members alike – it won’t be complete without you.

The program is available at no cost to the to our church. On the other hand, the more people who participate, the more ministry tools they make available to our congregation at no cost (things like pamphlets, outreach cards, and mailers). Thus we encourage you to invite your friends, family and neighbors to take part as well—they will also receive a free 8x10 and can choose to not have their picture included in our directory.

NEW BIBLE STUDY

There will be a new Bible Study on Sunday nights beginning January 17th at 5:00 pm for all who are interested. It's based on the study book "Jesus the only One" by Beth Moore. These Study Books can be purchased at Canaan Bible Book store, and if you'd like one but can't afford it, we'll help get it for you. This study will last for 11 weeks.
