Thanksgiving Leftovers

* After 3 months of focusing on our “Forward In Faith” program and the 21 days of prayer, over 30 families pledged to give approximately $240,000 (above and beyond their regular tithes).

* Our local community put together it’s first “Christmas In The Park” at Riverside Park. There were live nativity displays (of which we had our youth as the Shepherds in the fields with an angelic host) as well as music, food and free Carousel rides.

* Home Depot was very kind to our JAM kids November 26th. We took 14 of our 2nd thru 5th graders there and were treated to “pirate ship” craft kits. The kids all hammered and glued some fairly impressive looking ships and received shop aprons with their names on them as well as additional stickers to put on their ships.

In Praise Of Wal-Mart

Ordinarily, I’m not much for praising mega-stores… I mean, what help do they need from me. But I’m going to make an exception this time because of a bold moral stand this particular company has taken recently. Wal-Mart allegedly has garnered a "do not buy" endorsement from Human Rights Campaign (HRC), one of the nation's leading homosexual advocate groups because they’ve refused to offer domestic partner benefits. In other words, this homosexual lobby has decided to punish the company because they refuse to reward immoral behavior. The sodomite community is urging its people to shop at Target instead, because Target has a looser moral standard on this issue.
Now, the homosexuals have a right to do that (it’s a free country), but the American Family Association is urging Christians across the nation to counteract the boycott by shopping at Wal-Mart as much as possible this season.
Additionally, I want to remind you of the kind gift of shoes the manager of our local Wal-Mart gave to the Mexican Medical Mission we support. Let him know how much we appreciated their kindness.
